I came across yet another article about pre-processed food stuff that we buy in
the store not being as good from a nutritional standpoint for you as if we were
to process it ourselves at home. This article was regarding ground flax seeds.
Since I use flax seeds all the time, usually to replace eggs
in my baking; I figure I should find a better way.

This is a post I’ve had sitting around for a while, I
actually did this project last summer.
I found this adorable desk on the side of the road and
thought…”Hey! With a little love that would be PERFECT for #2’s room!” So I
picked it up.
I also picked up this
old wooden headboard that needed some help. I forgot to take the before
pictures of this Aprilhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05805111882844740346noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6038934270375167602.post-45449572740096536472014-02-04T12:43:00.000-08:002014-02-04T12:43:58.412-08:00Preschool-Learning to write their own name-Plus a link to free printout
It’s crazy how fast kids grow up! I can’t believe #2 will be
starting kindergarten next year! Lately I’ve been working to make sure she is
on point with everything she needs to know. One of the items I’m working to
help her perfect is writing her name. I was perusing Pinterest and I came
across THIS great site where you can customize tracing sheets with your child’s
name. You can Aprilhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05805111882844740346noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6038934270375167602.post-33629609715742497132014-02-03T10:22:00.000-08:002014-02-05T08:59:18.510-08:00Green Smoothie Recipe and How I Freeze My Bananas
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day as everyone
knows. It’s also one of the most chaotic times during the day for moms. We are
trying to get everyone dressed, fed, packed with what they need and off to
where they’re supposed to go. With all this going on, it’s really easy to
forget about your own needs, and skip breakfast. At least that is what used to happen to me.

This past few weeks has been super busy. Lots of summer fun
and projects going on at our house! Lately I’ve been putting in a lot of hours
working on improving the home. I’ve made some good progress, but there is still
much to do to get it to where we want it to be. Here are some pictures from
before and my progress so far…..

Hey Everyone,
One of you asked me about the mixed fruit Popsicles I made on
Memorial Day. I don’t have a written down recipe but they are really simple to
make and you can customize them. I made some more and took pictures this time
so I could show you. You will need something to freeze your Popsicles in. (I
use these Popsicle molds; they are simple and functional, but nothing fancy.) Yesterday was Memorial Day, and while I forgot to take
pictures, we had a fantastic day here at home. We started the day off doing
some landscaping work in the backyard, and we also dug up and potted some
plants for the deck. While we were doing this I found a neat copper water
feature that had been hidden behind some bushes from the previous owner. It
needs a little repair, so youAprilhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05805111882844740346noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6038934270375167602.post-27922666823646037082013-05-23T13:45:00.001-07:002014-02-04T12:46:35.075-08:00Making Memories on the Cheap
Well its official!!! The kids are out of school for the summer. So
now I need to find ways to keep them busy and help them create those wonderful
childhood memories. I don’t want to
spend money on a daily basis to do this, so I have to be a little more
creative. The reason I think about it
like this is because of my own childhood memories; my wonderful childhood

This was the first
weekend that it’s been really hot so far this year. Yes, we’ve been quite spoiled. Although
temperatures were high, we still found some fun things to do outside.
We had a campout
in the backyard to kick off the weekend. Hubby and the kids roasted
marshmallows and made S’mores. We also found out #2 is quite good at making up
ghost stories on the fly. I don’t know about you, but I LOVE chocolate milk, hot or
cold; doesn’t matter. What I don’t like is highly refined sweeteners,
artificial flavors and colors or hydrogenated oils in my chocolate milk. I want
the real thing! So I decided to make my
own with unsweetened cocoa powder. In the past I did this by making chocolate
syrup on the stove, and then cooling and Aprilhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05805111882844740346noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6038934270375167602.post-35996178966144893322013-05-15T20:07:00.001-07:002013-05-28T15:26:10.368-07:00Recipe for Healthy Oatmeal Raisin Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies
Welcome to the Blog!
In recent times
I’ve been very concerned about the poor food practices in this country, and how
they affect my family and my own health.
I’m hearing all kinds of horrible things that are happening to people
mainly because of their poor diet. I want to avoid that for my family.
As a result of
this knowledge I am usually trying to improve the way we Aprilhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05805111882844740346noreply@blogger.com1
